We've had 2 tripods at our house from amputation for osteosarcoma. We found slick floors to be very difficult for them. We bought rubber backed rugs and made carpet paths across the slick floors.
Some tripods re-learn stairs and some do not. Going down is very difficult for a front leg amputee and going up is difficult for a back-leg amputee. From what I've seen, I think a back leg amputee has an easier time getting around in general than a front leg amputee.
Walking seems more difficult than running for a tripod.
